We have a 2003 Cobra mustang, it originally had a 6 speed manual, but after my grandpa lost his leg they changed it to a automatic. Before it broke they rev-ed it really high in second, now it wont shift out of second. What could be wrong, what should I check. I heard that it might be a transmission fuse, is this true?
Ive always had problems with 2nd gear in my 96 gt. Most likely the trans will need to be rebuilt but if you dont drive on it they might be able to just replace the 2nd gear part without rebuilding the rest. Goodluck

check the shift solenoid ”about 30 dollars to replace” then if that don’t work unhook the batt for a few hours to let the computer reset then if all that fails take it to be put on the computer at your local ford dealership it will cost about 75 dollars hope this helps
