  1. take a 351W and bore it out to a 400 . that will work better and wont cost you a lot of money.the 460 is a heavy motor that your stang wont be able to handle, your frame ain’t made for it. stick with an electronic ignition .will run you about $600 bucks . but it is more reliable than points

  2. Theres a few kits to put a 460 into a fox body and summit racing sells one, but skip the 400M unless you either get cleveland heads or the edelbrock heads. None the less the 400M will bolt into the Fox Body to with the 460 kit since they share the same mounts and transmission.
Either way the 460 is a better value since its bigger, and the early factory “except DVE2″ heads were all capable of supporting 460-500 horsepower with very little work. Plus with there short stroke they can rev very easily. Also consider the 429 brother as it revs easier yet.

  3. The weight factor makes this an undesirable modification and the cost factor also…. but with a fat enough wallet and loads of time and skinned knuckles you can do it….unless you change the rear end etc….you won’t be happy with your overweight dog…..on the other hand modifying/building your existing powerplant will be far cheaper and do better and be faster….(make ya happier too)

  4. Jegs sells a 460 Fox Body Swap kit. It includes headers, motor mounts, a new oil pan (to clear the stock k member). Stiffer springs up front would definetely be a good investment.
