I need to know if it will be interchangeable, with of course the computer and wires for the ’94 engine.

  1. The 89 and 94 302 it self is the same with mirror mechanical changes. The Mustang didn’t go to the 4.6 Modular engine until 96 the same time the ECU change to the OBD II units which I personally would not go to. Engine it self should be a simple swap, Keep all your original accessories, engine wiring and possible upper and lower intake, ign system etc…. And if trans are different then Flywheel, bearings, etc…

  2. Well if you have an 89 and buying an engine from a 94 that is the same size then you must have a 5.0. The 5.0 will bolt in with no problems. You should swap the intake manifold. That would make installation the easiest. The fuel and vaccum lines are already set up in the places for the 89 intake. Also, if you can, use the 89 computer and wires. If you use the 94 computer and wiring, you may run into issues with some wires being too long and not long enough. While the engine bay is very similar, some wire routing may have changed. If you have to use the 94 intake, wiring, and computer, you may run into little electronic gremlins but I do believe the harnesses should all plug into each other.
