STEP # 1

SUB-FRAME CONNECTORS ! $100

Ya gotta Brace it, before you can Race it !

The body's twist when adding H.P., make sure that the car has the "Backbone" to handle it.

Step #2 add cross drilled front brake rotors and VGX Extra virgine Graphite front brake pads (summitracing.com)..."Stopping quickly", is much MORE important than going FAST !

I'm with SVO man, except since your building for that long, go with a mild cam, higher flow heads like AFR 175's a betting upper and lower manifold, and a supercharger. If you wan't to get a bit more boost, build your block. If you wan't drivability keep it to 306 for your displacement.

stroke the engine, to 338 or 347, add sub connectors, get better springs, mabey a lowering kit, add a shift kit if auto or a better clutch and short throw shifter if manual, mabe a supercharger need NOS just for kicks and definately good tires and if you save lots install a 4 link in the rear to snub the crappy stock rear trailing arm binding issue when she's gunned and you can even get a primitive superchip for the 90, if you want to go big. or add a cold air intake, throttle body spacer, headers and lower gears for starters.Removing unneeded heavy stuff and getting light weight body panels, hood, driveshaft and rims help too. Every ounce you can shave off gains more in the E.T's. good idea to add a cage or atleast a rollbar. helps stop body twist of both the car and yourself.

Biggest thing to remember is will it pass the emissions in your area. If you live in an area like I do. I can put anything I want on my engine and still drive the car. I have seen 600 HP mustangs that still meet the emissions and are daily drivers. You need to read up on what the parts are and anything that says Not 50 states legal is out. Now that's not to say that you can't hold on to all your old parts, put them on when you need to pass the emissions once a year and then put all the other stuff on once it passed. You have options.
