I don't get why people buy nice/more expensive cars then piss and moan about having to use premium gas or in this case Z rated tires. Your car was designed with Z rated tires in mind. And even though you won't be regularly exceeding 150 MPH, Z rated tires are typically stickier than H or V rated tires and you would be giving up traction. Generally speaking you *Never* skip on tires or brakes. Since they are safety issues. I say pony up for the proper tires, or trade in the Mach for something that may suit you better. All too common. My 2006 GTO came with RE-040r Bridgestone and now I have even more expensive RE-010R super high performance Bridgestone tires. I expect the highest level of grip and performance here in Texas and run summer tires year around. I may only require that level of grip once a month once a year. Inexpensive tires Hankook, Cooper, Kuhmo Sumitomo and there are a even China made tires that will never see use on my family's cars.
