   You can maybe get close to doing so. There are suspension, motor, exhaust, and body kit upgrades for the 05 and up Mustang that will make your car sound and look and if you choose your parts right, might even get you close to the feel of a Shelby. It will set you back a pretty penny.

   Shelby uses a hotter cam, higher compression, better flow heads, better flowing exhaust, etc. The swaybars are biger, the springs are stiffer, (better handling)

   Are you talking Shelby GT 500 or just Shelby GT?

   The Shelby GT is just a body kit, exhaust, CAI and a tune over a stock GT. Its easy to recreate this but it is expensive. There are numbers of guys who have already turned their cars into Shelby GT Hertz recreations. The Shelby GT 500 is much much more. To start with its a bigger motor (hand built with builders signature) with a blower with a tougher transmission. Some body mods are on the GT 500. It has bigger brakes and a stiffer suspension, etc. You can turn a regular GT into one of these but why bother? It will cost more to purchase and modify the car than it would to just buy the Shelby GT 500 and have an original.

   Are you talking about the new ones??? If so, then here is your answer. The Mustang GT has a 4.6L naturally aspirated V-8 pushing around 300hp. The Shelby has a supercharged 5.4L V-8 pushing about 480hp. The Shelby has wider tires, and more aggressive gearing as well. You could make the 4.6L push the same power, but you’d be better off just to buy the Shelby. The 5.4 makes more low end torque too.

   the shelby has a 5.4 v8 supercharged and the gt is a standered 4.6 v8
